Introduction To Butterfly Valve

Aug 17, 2022Leave a message

A flap valve, also referred to as a butterfly valve, is a type of regulating valve that possesses a simple structure. It can be effectively utilized for on-off control of low-pressure pipeline mediums. This type of valve features a closing member, such as a disc or butterfly plate, which functions by rotating around the valve shaft to facilitate opening and closing operations.

Valves are essential in controlling the flow of different kinds of fluids. Air, water, steam, corrosive substances, mud, oil, liquid metal, and even radioactive materials are just some of the fluids that can be manipulated using valves. Valves are mainly intended for pipeline operations such as cutting and throttling. The butterfly valve, for instance, has a disk-shaped butterfly plate that rotates around its own axis in the valve body, allowing it to perform specific functions like opening, closing, and adjusting.
